About and privacy
How Plain Dev Tools works: every tool runs in your browser and your input is never uploaded.
How the tools work
Each tool is a small piece of JavaScript that runs in your browser tab. When you paste JSON, a token or a log, the page processes it locally. There is no server endpoint that receives your input, and the pages do not make network requests with it. You can verify this in your browser's network panel, or load a page and then disconnect from the internet.
Accuracy
Each tool has automated tests for its logic, including edge cases such as invalid input, empty input and boundary values. Where a tool covers only part of a format (for example the YAML converter, which handles the common subset), the page says so and reports unsupported input as an error instead of guessing.
Analytics and ads
The site may use cookieless page-view analytics to learn which tools are used. It may later show ads or affiliate links; both are labelled, and neither sees what you type into a tool.
Corrections
If a tool gives a wrong answer, that is a bug we want to fix. Include the input that caused it when you report it.
